Weekly Web Series Update: 10/31/09
Halloween is abound this week, as new series materialize for a week of ghoulish entertainment, and one returns for a second season to sink your teeth into. A few others give their series a spooky makeover. So, let me start with…
- The Web.Files - Episode 17: Kristyn Burtt delves into the scary world of horror genre this week, as she covers the upcoming series Camera Obscura. Kristyn interviews Drew Daywalt (Writer & Director), Sarah Evershed (Director of Distribution/ MWG Entertainment) and Jeff Farley (Make-up effects artist). This series is airing Fall 2009. Besides an intriguing story and very scary make-up effects, this series will also star Jack Klugman. Kristyn’s interview can be seen on Blip.TV, and for more indepth Behind the Scenes info check Red Carpet Closet.
- Duck ‘n Cover Season 2 Episode 6: ‘Burger’. Nothing like a burger to satisfy the hunger… Watch this episode on Funny or Die.
- Safety Geeks: SVI Episode 10: ‘Dusty Buttprints’ As the Safety team’s noose of interrogation tightens around the Giant Provisions staff… Hmm, let me rephrase that. The investigation intensifies… ‘Nuff said. Just watch it. :) KoldCast.TV
- MYMHM Episode 25: For their tribute to Halloween, Juan and Lee review a classic horror movie, ‘The Omen’. The original, not the remake nor sequels. You maybe puzzled as to why they chose ‘The Omen’. Well, watch this episode and all will be made clear. (Side note: During this episode something curious happens, and neither Juan not Lee had any hand in what happened…) As always, this series is worth watching. Soon after they posted Episode 25, they added a ‘Movies You May Have Missed approved movies for Halloween 2009’ post. The list is full of great suggestions for a scary night of movie watching. - The Guild Bonus Halloween Episode: This week they took a break from the series, and made this treat for the fans. Very enjoyable and will get you in the feel of the season. Only found this posted on MSN
- The Occulterers: This series started this last Tuesday and will end today (10/31). The 5 part series aired every day, and was accompanied with a one hour “live feed” to involve the viewers to tweet back their findings. The “Live feed” is also good to use in the background when the trick ‘r treaters hit your doorstep. It is full of spooky sounds. The series follows a team of ghost investigators to Count Vampire’s Castle. I would say this comedy has a tinge of Benny Hill and a smidgen of Most Haunted (Travel Channel). You can watch the series at The Occulterers
- Craig and the Werewolf Season 1 & 2: The first season aired just after Lost & Found, and was made by the same production company and cast. The series started off with Craig realizing his roommate is a werewolf, and soon he too becomes infected. Season one finale had yet another revelation. To which, Season two starts off with the repercussions of last season. As of today, season two finale has aired. This series is well worth watching. The second season has several more stars, and they bring even more energy to this tale. Episodes can be watched at BabelGum
(Editor’s Note: When writing a blog, it’s best to first save as draft; therefore, you can fix problems due to late night brain melting before it becomes public… I totally blanked out on a very funny web series.)
- Elevator series: Harold the Vampire mini-series: Everyday you ride in an elevator, whether at work, for errands or just for fun… How well do you really know who you are riding with? Well, in this office building, the daily riders of the elevators think they know each other pretty well… Or do they? In this special four-part Halloween mini series, a secret is revealed. One man’s struggle to live with the darkness within comes to light. Yes, this is a comedy, so just sit back and enjoy the laughs. Would seriously suggest watching all the regular episodes of the Elevator series as well. Harold the Vampire can be watched here. At that same site, you can find all the episodes of the regular series. So start watching, hunting and enjoying.
That is all I have found… At this point at least. Hope all have a safe and awesome Halloween!
